LED lights for task lighting and walkway lighting

AUO says that currently LED BLU equipped models have a 90% share in notebook and 20% in TV and monitor applications. The company predicts that at the end of 2010, the penetration for TV application will reach 30~40%. Additionally the company says that LED penetration for TV application depends on the factor whether LED supply can cover the growing demand of the application.

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com announced the addition of several high powered, compact, low amp draw LED lights for the interior and exterior of boats. Newest additions to the LED light line-up include long, low profile LED lights for illuminating areas around the boat, interior LED lights for task lighting and walkway lighting and LED underwater lights.

For exterior boat illumination, one of the longest low profile LED lights, producing 19,800 lumens, the LED10W-22R is 40 inches long, 2.75 inches tall and 2.5 inches deep. Available in a tight spot beam or a wide coverage flood beam, the LED10W series offers IP67 rated LED low profile lights ranging from 4 inches in length to 52 inches in length. The LED10W series of LED boat lights operate on 9-32 volts DC. DC power supplies are available to run these LED light from 110 Volts AC as well.

“We took our military grade LED lighting and made some adaptations so that these new models are suitable as LED boat lights, said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “The result is tough, durable LED lighting that delivers output exceeding incandescent lighting at dramatically lower amp draw. In many cases, boat operators are looking for low voltage LED lighting that will eliminate the need for high voltage generators and related lighting. These LED lights operate off of standard battery power and deliver results on par with high pressure sodium and metal halide lighting. Our LEDLB-80X2 LED light is very popular with crab and lobster fishing fleets on both coasts for replacing high voltage high pressure sodium lighting.

Semiconductor lighting industry in Shenzhen develops rapidly in recent years

Orion’s LED fixture, designed to perform at temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit, has been retrofitted in more than 3 million square feet of freezer and cold-storage space in facilities across the nation in the past several months. Companies with Orion LED technology in their facilities include US Foods, Sysco, Americold, and Save-A-Lot. The three approved Orion LED fixture models vary based on application-specific lens configuration. Orion’s LED fixtures are designed to replace traditional high intensity discharge and T8 and T5 fluorescent fixtures. Orion’s LED fixtures use 123 watts compared to 400-watt HIDs and 298-watt fluorescents. According to its Web site, the DLC is a collaboration of utility companies and regional energy efficiency organizations committed to raising awareness of the benefits of efficient lighting in commercial buildings. In order to be included on the DLC’s QPL, a product must meet or exceed specific industry standards. QPL inclusion is required for c...

Entertainment applications will adopt the new LEDs

The number and breadth of applications that require amber LEDs is tremendous,” said Frank Harder, VP of Product Marketing at Philips Lumileds. “Markets including automotive, entertainment, roadway, signaling, and many others use amber LEDs. With better efficiency and more light output, LUXEON Rebel PC amber makes it that much easier to reduce energy consumption with an environmentally friendly product.lamps to LEDs because they didn’t produce enough light and couldn’t operate effectively at higher temperatures. With the advances provided by LUXEON Rebel PC Amber, yellow traffic signals will be converted, warning lights and beacons on vehicles and obstructions will switch and entertainment applications will adopt the new LEDs. numbers of amber LEDs. With LUXEON Rebel PC Amber, manufacturers will be able to use fewer LEDs and lower other component costs because of the improved light output and particularly the stable color over temperature, something that has been problematic for many ...
