this blindly expand production will bring lots of problems

From the LED supply chain, the upstream companies can got about 70% of profits, and LED chip packaging accounts for about 30%.Most china’s led high bay industry is in the chip packaging segment, so they wanted to develop epitaxial and LED chip production, and china government also supported that. Now, it is reported that the government subsidizes 8-10 million Yuan (US$1.19-1.49 million) of each MOCVD machine installation, and has attracted many LED chip makers from home, Taiwan and the US to set up facilities in china.

As a result, Sanan Optoelectronics invested 12 billion yuan to expand upstream and planed to procure around 100 MOCVD sets. Tsinghua Tongfang had planed to invest 3 billion yuan in LED chip production and to become China's largest and a world top-three supplier. Silan Microelectronics would raise 600 million yuan for expanding high-brightness LED chips producing. Some people in the industry noted that this blindly expand production will bring lots of problems, such as prices lower, disorderly competition, product quality down to standard and so on.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) also said, china government are being making its twelfth five-year plan for LED Linear high bay light industry development to solve these difficulties.According to Supervisor Sandra Hopkins ,the township pays about $816 a month for electricity for its traffic signals, amounting to nearly $10,000 a year. So the township would have to outlay some money to replace the bulbs. The replacement cost would be $23,000," Hopkins said.

Managing Director for Sabik said, “Carmanah’s understanding of energy management is evident in the performance of their short-range solar LED marine lights, and we believe the Carmanah lights will be an excellent complement to Sabik’s marine product family.” Sarvikivi added that he expects future joint product development that will combine the best of Carmanah and Sabik’s technology to bring new products to the marine lighting market. The investment, which was supported by Wirral Council and The Mersey Partnership (TMP), who helped secure additional funding of 300,000 pounds from the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), is expected to enable SAFC Hitech to strengthen its position as a leading global supplier of TMG and satisfy the growing demand for the material in the production of high brightness LEDs (HBLEDs) for use in applications such as backlighting in flat panel television sets and energy efficient lighting. Reducing energy consumption and extending energy efficiency a...
