Soraa is the first to adapt the practice to the lighting industry

Available with a choice of two lenses, the TWH LED luminaire features a die-cast front housing and glass lens, while the TWP LED luminaire features a vandal-resistant polycarbonate lens, which makes the TWP ideal for lower mounting heights.

Incompatibility between LED lamps and fixtures with existing control gear and dimmers designed for traditional light sources—incandescent, halogen, or fluorescent—is one of the biggest hurdles facing the lighting industry today. PlugFests are a mainstay for the IT and consumer electronics industries—Soraa is the first to adapt the practice to the lighting industry, launching the first ever PlugFest in New York City in December 2012. Lighting PlugFest gives lighting designers and specifiers, manufacturers, and end users the opportunity to test products and identify underlying compatibility issues.

“Soraa has been an innovator in Solid State Lighting, launching a revolution in everything from substrates to LED chips to lamps. Lighting PlugFest is a unique opportunity to bring the SSL revolution to be on par with the IT world,” said Ella Shum, Chair of Strategies in Light Conferences, Strategies Unlimited. “Today, when we use a smartphone and a PC, we don’t think about how they communicate with each other. It should be the same for SSL lighting.”

In order to take maximum advantage of opportunities

Recently, China government promoted LED solid state lighting and listed Beijing as a level-one city for demonstration. Meanwhile, BOE's 8G plant scheduled to start mass production in 2011, LED backlight unit (BLU) demand from BOE was expected to surge. Additionally, Everlight was listed as one of BOE's backlighting suppliers. In order to take maximum advantage of opportunities, Everlight decided to set up a production plant in Beijing. Market sources noted, Currently all LED Linear high bay light notebook products were LED backlit. BOE's overall LED demand from its 5G and 6G plants was expected to exceed one billion chips in 2011, and to over seven billion chips when BOE's advanced production lines came online in the future.
