Mr. Sutat Patmasiriwat, Governor of LED high bay light, said “During the past 19 years, EGAT has done everything it can to raise energy awareness. In 2012, EGAT noted that LED lighting will be the new innovation that can reduce energy losses in the country. Hence, EGAT launched the “LED Lighting Campaign” in order to encourage the use of high quality electrical lighting system, starting from the development and certification of the MR16 LED Label No. 5 as the pilot project following with other kinds of LED lighting.
In order to promote the campaign, EGAT will host the international exhibition on LED lighting products and technology under the name “LED Expo Thailand 2013” during 23th -25th May, 2013 at Hall 4 - IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. This is the first LED Lighting Expo in Thailand. The event will present the latest LED technology and inventions from international entrepreneurs. It will also act as a center for exchanging technology and academic knowledge between manufacturers and consumers.” Mr. Sutat added.
LED Expo Thailand 2013 is one project to promote LED lighting by EGAT. The LED lighting has high quality with long lifespan. The LED lighting can reduce energy consumption 30-85%. It is also mercury free and therefore safe for the environment. Research from EGAT shows that using 500,000 MR16 LED lighting, energy consumption will be annually reduced by 12 million units or 36 million Baht in energy cost saving. Meanwhile, it will also annually reduce 6,600 tons of carbon dioxide emission. In 2011, LED lighting for lamps growth was 50% expecting another 30% per annum increase for the next 5 years.
Mr. Loy Joon How, General Manger of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd, revealed “IMPACT and MEX Exhibitions are preparing over 5,000 square meters so that the LED Expo Thailand 2013 will be the perfect stage for top electric companies to show their LED products directly to consumers, including buyers from industrial sectors and among other businesses from domestic and overseas markets. 5,000 visitors are expected including buyers who will engage in negotiations such as designers and architectures, hotels, resorts, housing and condominium operators, industrial factories, local organizations, and both private and public sectors which are the target groups the organizing party aims to promote more LED products for their projects.
