American Silicon Products is reported to divide its semiconductor

As a pilot project, the mayor, Reinhold Ferstl, had two led high bay light installed in the heart of the locality back in February 2010 – with positive feedback from the local residents.

"What convinced us was the modern technology, as it not only produces more pleasant, warm light: the light diodes only project their light into the desired direction", Ferstl observes.

It is a measure that not only pays off for large cities: small communities can also achieve huge savings as a result, also making a contribution to sustainability. Pielenhofen will switch over its street lighting to LED across the community’s whole area.

Recently, Sino American Silicon Products is reported to divide its semiconductor and LED departments into two independent companies  named as “Huanchiu Wafer “and “Sapphire Technology”,completely owned by the company, which will retain its core photovoltaic business. The base day for the LED Linear high bay light split is set on October 1. And the two new companies will apply for listing their shares on the domestic bourse within one year.

Opposite to the trend of merger in the local PV industry, the spin-off will transform the structure of Sino American into a sprawling holding company, consisting of the six major businesses of poly-silicon in the upstream sector, PV crystal and silicon wafer, solar cell, PV module and system, semiconductor, and LED.
