The studies showed there was a statistically significant preference for the diode-laser-based white light over the warm and cool led linear high bay light white light. There was no statistically significant preference between the diode-laser-based and either the neutral LED-based or incandescent white light.

According to researchers,the results aren't expected to cause an immediate shift to diode lasers, as diodes are more expensive to fabricate and both yellow and green laser diodes have a ways to go. The warm white diode laser light that was preferable to consumers is created by a combination of the four laser beams -- yellow, blue, green and red.

Lately, GE Lighting has hold the 3rd annual LED & Energy Efficient Lighting Trends for Retail conference at the lighting unit’s global headquarters in East Cleveland, Ohio. There are 45 retailers gathered to share best practices, learn about new technologies and discuss emerging trends that can deliver immediate and sustained environmental and financial gains, while enhancing the visual appeal of products.

Among the retailers, The Fresh Market and Walgreens were honored for their efforts in lighting efficiency by GE Lighting.

The Fresh Market took home the led high bay light of the Year award for incorporating LED PAR38s into 40 percent of its stores for both accent and general lighting applications.
