Tadato Kimura, GM – marketing of Sony India, said, “The market for LED TVs has been steadily increasing over the past one year. Sony sold close to led linear high bay light Bravia TVs last year and the number is expected to go up to 12 lakh by the end of this financial year.”
According to latest GFK reports, demand for LED TVs is on an upswing with 15 per cent contribution to total flat panel sales till April 2011. “We look forward to maintain our 30 per cent market share,” Kimura said.
“We hope to sell around 95,000 flat-panel TVs in Tamil Nadu and are aiming to capture 35 per cent market share. Our channel strength will increase from 500 to 700 outlets,” he said.
According to Everlight’s official, the company expects its led high bay light revenue in the third quarter to fall by 10 percent from the previous quarter amid lower demand, while returning to stronger growth in the fourth quarter on the back of a better lighting and small-size backlight business.
