 Among the well known LED lighting companies, running from name brands of Philips and Osram, to leading LED packaging players including Cree, Nichia, Citizen and Seoul Semiconductor displayed on site, Taiwan vendors include Edison, ProLight, Neo-Neon and HightHouse.

According to LEDinside’s observation at HK light Fair, major exhibit LED products at this year’s fair range from led high bay light, spot lamp, street lamp to the replacement lamp for incandescent lamp and fluorescent lamp, including E27 and T-bar lamp. Among, the CRI and power saving are focuses of these replacement lamp.

Under the alliance, Epistar, the world’s second-largest maker of expitaxy, will buy into NPI and provide it technological support. The alliance may also involve acquisition of stake by NPI in Epistar or the setup of a joint venture. An FPG official noted that the alliance was initiated by Epistar and accepted by FPG after careful evaluation.

The alliance further manifests FPG’s aggressive plan for the green-energy market. Early this month, it joined hands with PSC and Yulon Group in setting up a LED lighting company, which targets the Chinese market. The company acquired the largest stake in Precision Silicon Corp. (PSC), another major expitaxy maker, in April this year.

Universal Display will develop new technologies and processes for OLED manufacturing
